On Saturday 28th November Bath Primary Schools FA played Decorum
With the weather being so bad last minute arrangements were made for the game to be played away rather than at home. Fortunately there were enough parents willing to travel and Ben G was drafted in to make up the numbers for the journey towards the capital. Thanks mums and dads for agreeing to drive!
In the first period Bath started strong with Albie running down the left wing and providing a lovely cross into Callum who nicely finished with a tap in from close range: 1-0 to Bath. Straight after kick off Dacorum started pressing hoping to get back onto level terms but Bath held strong and soon were on the attack again. Callum crossed, it was flicked on by Nathan it fell for Liam who hit it in the top corner with his left foot: 2-0 to Bath.
To be fair to Dacorum they did not give up and continued to press more when a free kick nearly lifted into the striker’s path, but Alex, Bath’s new keeper, had it covered and cleared the ball away. Soon Bath created another goal started by a great passing move. It was finished when a lovely through ball by Jordan was put away by Kane 3-0.
A couple of minutes later the referee blew for the end of the first period with the score 3-0 to Bath.
Soon the whistle blew for the start of the second period with Bath wanting to keep their good lead. Dacorum were now desperate for a goal but Bath’s defence was holding strong. About 10 minutes into the half William had the ball on the right, he passed it to Tom who then finished with a curling and dipping shot which flew over the keeper from 25 yards out: Bath 4-0!
Now Dacorum really were desperate to get a goal. However, Bath wanted a clean sheet and held strong. A couple of minutes later the whistle blew for the end of the second period with a very happy Bath team: 4-0.
The start of the third period was started by a great move from Bath but Dacorum intercepted to stop us scoring the 5th. Unfortunately, the rest of the period was pretty boring and nothing much happened apart from Dacorum clawing one goal back. About 5 minutes later the whistle blew for the end of the game and Bath ended the game as the best performers and the winners.
A Tottenham scout was watching the game and commented on our performance saying that we passed the ball well and every player had great skill on the ball. So overall a great day.
