Wiltshire boys let Gloucester sneak back in

Whilst the Bath boys battled it out against North Somerset, the Wiltshire squad took on Gloucester B at MPS. With glorious weather and a decent surface, the home side started well and controlled the game with some fine play right from the goalkeeper Alex Mengham. Come the end of the second period, Wiltshire had taken a deserved 4-1 lead and were looking to extend it rather than look over their shoulder as we squandered another 3 good chances. However, Gloucester had other ideas and managed to get back into the game with some assertive play. With the Chippenham boys taking a few knocks in particular, the game petered out into a draw as Gloucester equalised in the last minute. Disappointing score line having led for so long, but some pleasing bits of play in the first two periods. Lesson to be learned is that attractive football sometimes has to be mixed with a bit of aggression and fight once the opposition decide to use such tactics.
