BWB 11s made a good start to their Cotswold League campaign with a solid performance against Plymouth SFA.
The boys began well scoring two early goals through our very oen Marco Reuss up front. On both occasions the impressive Fin B allowed Reuss to score one with his favoured right and the other on the spin on his left. With both Ironman and Sam C difficult to beat, Plymouth's chances were few and far between, but at the other end Ben W and Reuss missed opoportunities to increase the lead. Notable were chances from Benedict and a good volley from Ironman, but the half finished 2-0.
The second half was more evenly fought with Plymouth beginning to put the BWB boys under more pressure. Both Leo and Louis, playing well in midfield, missed chances to increase the lead, but it was captain Ironman who scored the third 10 minutes from the end when he converted a passage of play between Leo and Cam.
In the closing moments Plymouth almost ruined the day when they scored two goals in injury time (referee forgot his watch:) the second a penalty. However, the whistle then went and the three points were in the bag.
Unfortunately, some late withdrawls from the Plymouth squad meant that the playing time for the second team was reduced, but the boys acquitted themselves well, Josh C Hagrid and Leon shining particularly well.
Many thanks to Shane and Ray for running the morning!
